Steadman Paces Lady Tigers to 5th Place at GMC
Milledgeville, GA. – The MMI Lady Tigers cross country team was led by sophomore Kristalyn Steadman with a time of 24:05 in their first competition of the season. She was followed close behind by freshman Sipriana Hill (24:28) and sophomore Gloria Morrow (26:00). The women placed 5th as a team.
Also competing for Marion were first time runners Amelia Ansbro (27:46), Jakiyia Sealey (27:54), Phoebe Rominger (32:16), and Kiliyah Taylor (34:14).
"I was pleased with the competitiveness of the women today as they finished fifth as a team. It was very hot and humid, and they fought through with a good showing," said head coach Chad Balentine. "it's a good start to the season and we will look to improve each week."
The Tigers will travel to the University of Montevallo this Friday for their Twilight Falcon Classic. The women's 5k race is scheduled to start at 8:15 p.m.
