Marion, AL. – After the Lady Tigers softball team dropped two games at Central Alabama CC, they returned home to secure two wins to break even in the series, 2-2. They will face the Coyotes of Coastal Alabama CC-North this week in another four-game ACCC series.

Game 3 MMI 4 CACC 3

Sophomore Emily Rice threw a complete a game in the first game Saturday afternoon to earn the win. She gave up six hits, three runs (two earned), and two walks with five strikeouts.

Kyren Damon, Carlie Blanton, and Alexandra Gray each had two hits for Marion. Blanton and Gray each scored a run with Gray adding a stolen base. Damon doubled, walked once, and recorded an RBI.

Also getting hits for MMI were Nichole Dockery (1-for-4, HR, R, RBI), Katie Hopson (1-for-3, R), Destiny Brashears (1-for-3), Emily Rice (1-for-3), and Abigail Phillips (1-for-3, 2B, 2RBI).

Game 4 MMI 7 CACC 4

Sydney Elam started in the circle for the final game of the series and in 3.1 innings, she gave up three hits, a run and two walks. Haylie Lee worked 3.2 innings in relief with three hits, three runs (two earned) and one strikeout.

Alexandra Gray went 2-for-2 with a stolen base, a run scored and one RBI. Kyren Damon added two hits in plate appearances with an RBI and a run scored.

Nichole Dockery and Carlie Blanton each had two hits with Dockery adding a triple with an RBI, a stolen base and two runs scored.

Katie Hopson (1-for-4, R, 2RBI), Destiny Brashears (1-for-2, 2BB), and Emily Rice (1-for-4, RBI) also had hits in the win.
