Phenix City, AL. – The Lady Tigers earned a four-game sweep against the Pirates of Chatt Valley CC, winning the final two games on the road. They will face Reid State Technical College this week with the first two games scheduled for Wednesday, March 11.

Game 3 MMI 10 CVCC 0 (5 innings)

Emily Rice earned the win from the circle for Marion with Addison Mitchell working an inning in relief. Rice gave up just one hit and two walks with three strikeouts.

Katie Hopson finished 3-for-3 with a double, a homerun and five RBI to lead MMI at the plate. Carlie Blanton and Nichole Dockery each had two hits. Blanton scored twice, walked once, and recorded three RBI while Dockery doubled twice, scored twice, and had two RBI.

Also getting hits for the Tigers were Alexandra Gray (1-for-4, R), Destiny Brashears (1-for-3, 2B, R), Shelby Black (1-for-3, 2B), Abigail Phillips (1-for-3, R), and Kyren Damon (1-for-3, R).

Game 4 MMI 13 CVCC 3 (5 innings)

Haylie Lee pitched five innings in the final game of the series, giving up six hits, three runs (one earned) and a walk with one strikeout. Alexandra Gray led Marion with three hits in three plate appearances, including a grand slam. She scored once and finished with a team high six RBI. Carlie Blanton, Nichole Dockery, and Abigail Phillips each went 2-for-3. Dockery scored three runs, doubled, stole a base, and recorded three RBI. Blanton doubled with two RBI and two runs scored.

Also getting hits for Marion was Katie Hopson (1-for-2, 2R, BB), Kyren Damon (1-for-3, R), and Emily Rice (1-for-1, R, RBI).
