Steven Dudley has been named Assistant Cross Country/Track & Field coach, starting this November.

“Coach Dudley brings a great wealth of experience, having coached at all levels to include junior college and NCAA Division I,” stated Director of Athletics, Michelle Ivey. “We are excited about this hire and look forward to Coach Dudley helping elevate both programs.”  

Head Track & Field/Cross-Country Coach went on to say, “It is not every day that you get to replace a bright, young, up and coming coach like Micha Reed with a veteran like Coach Dudley. Coach Dudley brings 20+ years of collegiate coaching experience to MMI, including the Junio College and NCAA Division I level. He brings a wealth of knowledge to our growing program and is a tremendous proven recruiter. We wish Coach Reed well, and I have no doubt that we will have a seamless transition as Coach Dudley takes the reigns. It is time to get to work!”

Steven Dudley coached at Bevill State CC from 1998-2000 where he oversaw both the men’s and women’s cross-country programs, winning multiple Region 22 Championships. He went on to coach at his alma mater Mississippi State university, first as Associate Head Track & Field Coach/ Head Men’s Cross-Country coach and then in 2010 promoted to Head Track & Field Coach while continuing his men’s cross-country duties. While at MSU he coached seven (7) Olympians, eleven (11) NCAA Champions, eleven (11) NCAA Runner-ups, 209 All-American Performances, 71 Individual All-Americans, one (1) World Champion and one (1) World Runner-up.

Most recently, Coach Dudley has been the co-owner of Blue & Gold Coaching in which he provided personal training to athletes at all levels. As lead coach he trained forty-two (42) state champions, nine (9) high school All-Americans, one (1) national champion, and 102 All-State Performances.

Steven earned both his Bachelor of Science degree and his Master of Science Degree from Mississippi State University in Geology.
