Tigers Place 2nd at Brickyard Invitational

Milledgeville, GA. – Freshman Peter Paccassi medaled in his first collegiate 8k race (27:37), placing fifth at the Brickyard invitational Friday evening.  He paced the MMI Tigers to a 2nd place finish in their first competition of the fall.

Paccassi was followed by freshmen Thomas Burch (29:16), Sam Myers (30:23), and Abubakr Jallow (30:30).  The first sophomore to cross the finish line for Marion was Parker Hicks at 31:40. Following Hicks was Nelson Troy (31:48), Michael Cody (32:43), Jeremy Garcia (34:58), Amarion Booker (35:04), Jacob Hilb (36:59), Tyler Druskoff (38:48), and Joshua Gaffney (39:41).

"I was very pleased with the effort, especially out of a group of mostly freshmen," stated head coach Chad Balentine. "We still have a very long way to go to accomplish our goals."

The Tigers will travel to the University of Montevallo this Friday for their Twilight Falcon Classic.  The men's 8k race is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
