The Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) released the 2015 softball conference schedule yesterday. The conference will now be split into North and South Divisions, as opposed to the North, Central, and South Divisions of the past. The MMI Lady Tigers will continue to compete in the North Division with opponents Calhoun, Central Alabama CC, Gadsden State CC, Shelton State CC, Snead State CC, Southern Union State CC, and Wallace State CC-Hanceville.
The ACCC Crossover, although not mandatory for schools, will take place on March 20-21 in Montgomery, AL. The crossover tournament allows the teams from the North to compete against the teams from the South.
The ACCC/Region XXII Tournament will be held Friday through Sunday, April 24-26, at a location to be determined. The conference office will be entertaining bids this summer for the host site. The runner-up at the 2015 tournament will have the opportunity to compete for a spot in the NJCAA National Tournament after a proposal was passed this spring by the national softball committee. Although the champion will once again receive an automatic bid, the second place team will face the winner of the Region 10/15/20 tournament for the right to advance to St. George, Utah.
